COVID Updates

February 9, 2022
Dear Church, Over the last few weeks, our Leadership Team has met several times to discuss our covid policies. The most significant outcome was our heightened awareness of the damage that the extended mask requirements were having on our children and families. This past weekend, we shared with you about this process and asked for your input. We want to thank you for your honest and heartfelt responses. In addition to excitement about a potential return to normal we also heard from a number of people who shared that they would like to maintain enhanced safety policies due to personal concerns and out of respect for those with elevated risk factors. Our Leadership Team met last night to discuss your input and did our best to consider the church’s physical, spiritual and emotional wellbeing, the unity of the church and the impact that our decisions will have in the community. With those primary factors in mind:
1. Effective immediately, we are “going back to normal” at our Saturday 7pm and Sunday 10am Worship Services. This means:
● masks will no longer be required at any time but will be available and optional based upon each person’s choice● we will reintroduce 2 worship songs at the beginning of the worship service with kids present● after the first 2 songs, kids will be dismissed for Kid’s Class● after the message, we will close our time in worship with 1 song this week and beginning next week, 2 songs (don’t forget to pick your kids up after the worship service ends:)● snacks and an expanded fellowship time will be reintroduced as soon as possible
2. We will maintain our enhanced safety policies indefinitely at our 8:30 am worship service in order to provide an extra safe alternative for those that have safety concerns for themselves and/or for others. Masks will continue to be required while in transit but optional while seated. This is a shorter service, with no singing and with adequate distancing available for those that desire it. We will maintain these enhanced safety policies at this service for an indefinite time, even after NYS lifts the mask mandate for indoor gatherings.
Church, we have moved through this pandemic with remarkable unity by the grace of God and through your respectful cooperation and understanding. We ask that you continue to respect people that have differing opinions and practices and work to maintain the unity of God’s church.
We love you, we thank God for you and we will welcome your continued input as we move forward!
In Christ,Pastor Pete, Pastor Adam and the CPF Leadership Team
