Cross Point Fellowship is a local, independent church where you will not find any perfect people, just ordinary people being changed by an extraordinary God.
Our greatest desire is to love God and to love other people the way that Jesus taught us to. This includes loving the unloved, extending grace and accepting people who are different than we are.
Outreach
We are committed to sharing the news of Jesus Christ with our entire community and partnering with others who share and serve Him around the world.
Relevance
We will be known for biblical teaching and practice that has a positive impact on people’s lives today.
Discovery Groups
We are passionate about discovery groups because life change happens best by learning – and living together. Discovery Groups are also the great places experience personal growth, build relationships and have fun.
Multiplication
We will be intentional about developing new leaders, discovery groups and churches, because we believe this is the best way to reach our community for Jesus.
Cross Point's mission flows directly from the Word of God!
Mathew 28:18-20 provides what we call "The Great Commission" to make disciples of all nations.Acts 1:8 provides the structure of our strategy to share the Gospel with people locally, regionally, nationally and around the world.Locally we do our best to "live on mission" as individuals and as a church, We are committed to sharing the Gospel, making disciples (followers of Jesus) and helping to start new churches ("church plants"). New churches like Cross Point generally reach 5-10 times more people for Christ per attender than older churches!
Puerto Rico Mission's Trip
Internationally we partner with the International Missions Board and it's 5,000 missionaries to share the Gospel. Dozens of individuals and teams from Cross Point have served on missions teams in over 20 countries, We have also adopted an Unreached People Group in the heart of Africa. We have committed to sending teams to share the Gospel and make disciples several times each year for as long as it takes to see a reproducing movement of believers and churches. The travel to and from the African Bush is long, hard and expensive ($2,500 a person per trip) and the challenge is great (the people are 99.99% Muslim) BUT they need the Gospel. As daunting as this mission may seem, we have been encouraged by an openness to the Gospel and by the favor we have received from the Chief of these people.
Pete Shults is a native of Kingston with over 20 years of business experience and community service in the area. After receiving a Master of Divinity degree Pete began working with a team of people to start Cross Point Fellowship. Pete and his wife Nancy have a heart for reaching out to people and helping them grow closer to God. Their grown children John, Anne, Kate and Daniel are their heroes!
Adam is a bi-vocational pastor who relocated to the Kingston area in the fall of 2014 to serve at Cross Point Fellowship. Prior to that, he pastored a small church in Columbia, SC for 10 years. He and his wife are in the process of figuring out parenthood and are really enjoying their four young children! By way of education, he has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Clarkson University and a Masters of Divinity from Columbia International University. Along with pastoring, Adam co-owns a small construction and renovations company where he works as a project foreman and lead carpenter.
Tim joined Cross Point’s pastoral team in July 2023 after a long history of lay ministry and six years of teaching in Christian schools. While Tim is already doing a little bit of everything, his primary areas of focus include Children & Youth Ministry, Discipleship and Community Engagement. Tim received his Bachelors degree from Cedarville University and is currently pursuing his Master of Divinity. Tim grew up in the area and currently lives in Hurley with his wife Kate and son Luke.

"There is one Body and one Spirit... there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of us all..." Eph. 4:4-6
"Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters... Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls... So then each of us will give an account of himself to God... So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God." Romans 14:1,4,12,22
In all our beliefs - we show charity.
"If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.” 1 Cor. 13:2
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. Genesis 1:1, 26, 27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven's glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. Matthew 1:22, 23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5, 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14, 15; 1 Corinthians 15:3, 4; Romans 1:3, 4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14, 15; Titus 2:13.
The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is pre sent in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer a spiritual gift when they are saved. As Christians we seek to live under His control daily. 2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16, 17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:18.
The Bible is God's Word to us. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error. 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20, 21; 2 Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:105, 160, 12:6; Proverbs 30:5.
People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God's creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called "sin". This attitude separates people from God and causes many problems in life. Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1, 2.
Salvation is God's free gift to us but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin's penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith. Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8, 9; John 14:6, 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1.
Because God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ, the true believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. If you have been genuinely saved, you cannot "lose" it. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives us this security. John 10:29; 2 Timothy 1:12; Hebrews 7:25, 10:10-14; 1 Peter 1:3-5, Romans 8:38-39.
People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence. John 3:16, 14:17; Romans 6:23, 8:17-18; Revelation 20:15; 1 Corinthians 2:
Cross Point Fellowship was blessed to get our start at Coleman High School! In the ten years that we met at Coleman, we led almost 100 people to faith in Christ, ministered to 100’s of others, planted one church from CPF, sponsored and supported 3 other church plants and helped ignite a church planting movement here in the Mid-Hudson Valley! God worked powerfully in us and through us! However, our growth and impact was limited for many years due to the nature and size of that space.

Masks will no longer be required at any time but will be available and optional based upon each person’s choice
Church, we have moved through this pandemic with remarkable unity by the grace of God and through your respectful cooperation and understanding. We ask that you continue to respect people that have differing opinions and practices and work to maintain the unity of God’s church.
We love you, we thank God for you and we will welcome your continued input as we move forward!
In Christ,
Pastor Pete, Pastor Adam and the CPF Leadership Team
